Do I EVEN QUALIFY?

Here are the Five Steps the Social Security Administration uses to determine if you are disabled:

are you WORKING?

If you worked the calendar year and averaged more than a $1180 a month in earnings you typically will not be considered disabled.

SEVERE CONDITION?

To be considered disabled, your condition must impede you from doing basic activities required to perform your previous job.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS?

If your health problem is not listed on Social Security list, you may not qualify for disability.

CAN YOU WORK?

If needed, we will have an expert evaluate you and testify at the hearing about your ability to perform your previous work.

OTHER

WORK?

If the Social Security Administration decides you cannot do the work you did before, they will consider your ability to do other kinds of work.
